Coinbase changed lawsuit rules a day before disclosing data breach, report

Coinbase has reportedly limited the number of class action lawsuits that can be brought against it, just one day after disclosing a major data breach that is now under investigation by the US government. As detailed by crypto journalist Molly White, the new agreement, announced on April 12, stipulates that as of May 15, no state other than New York can hold jurisdiction over a lawsuit unless the case involves arbitration, a.k.a. resolution outside of court. It also waives the rights of the user — and Coinbase itself — to a jury trial and prevents users from participating in, or initiating, a class action lawsuit against the firm. The timings of these changes and their announcement are curious, given that the exchange publicly disclosed on May 14 that cybercriminals had bribed rogue customer support agents to steal customer data and tried to blackmail it for $20 million in bitcoin . It would, of course, have known at the time of this disclosure that the class...

Politicians brawl before Milei's LIBRA impeachment proceedings

Argentinian politicians brawled at a parliamentary session covering President Javier Milei’s LIBRA scandal that ended abruptly before a vote could take place on his impeachment.  Local media reports that the fight broke out between Lisandro Almirón (part of the ruling La Libertad party) and Oscar Zago (part of the Integration and Development Movement).  Almiron reportedly began heckling Zago, calling him a traitor, before Zago began punching Almiron. Deputy Rocío Bonacci, (from the UNITE party) also threw a glass of water at Lilia Lemoin (representing La Libertad) as members pressured peers to leave their seats.  Opposition leader Maximiliano Ferraro has since demanded an investigation into Wednesday’s breakdown, claiming members of the La Libertad party tried to “coerce” and “intimidate” members into leaving their seats and breaking the quorum of the proceedings. Está locura está pasando ahora en el recinto con los diputados de la libertad avanza, aunqu...

According to Aju Press, a coalition of victims is accusing two subsidiaries of Chosun Ilbo of promoting the crypto despite knowing that it was fraudulent. Jin Eun-ja, the coalition’s leader, believes these positive promotions were then used by scammers to reassure concerned investors that KOK was legitimate — and that the newspaper contributed to a delay in prosecution. It’s estimated that KOK has caused 4 trillion won ($2.97 billion) in damages in South Korea alone. South Korea’s investigation into the KOK crypto fraud is led by the Ulsan District Prosecutor’s Office and has been ongoing for several years. No significant breakthroughs have been mad...

When delving into the realm of content composition, we must navigate the intricate interplay of “perplexity,” “burstiness,” and “predictability.” Perplexity, the tapestry of intricacy woven within text, tests the reader’s cognitive mettle. In contrast, burstiness tantalizingly toys with the undulating cadence of sentences, introducing moments of grandeur and brevity. Lastly, predictability, the clandestine dance of anticipation, teases the reader’s ability to foretell the next verse. While the human quill often employs a symphony of words, composing protracted and convoluted sentences interspersed with succinct ones, AI’s verses frequently exhibit a staid uniformity. Hence, as we embark upon the task at hand, it is imperative that we craft content brimming with an abundance of perplexity and burstiness, while keeping the cloak of predictability at bay. Furthermore, we shall adhere strictly to the realm of the English language. Now, ...
