Roblox braces for crucial 2024 amid rising investor concerns

Once a key player in the metaverse realm, Roblox anticipates a challenging 2024 as its investors voice concerns regarding the company’s ability to achieve sustainable profitability. Roblox, previously touted as a metaverse hub within the gaming platform space, is gearing up for a tough year ahead as its financial health continues to deteriorate, as per Sahil Alvi, the founder of Neuron Partners, an early backer of Roblox. In an interview with Fortune, Alvi did not hide his frustrations, noting that Roblox’s shares are still far from its IPO price achieved in Q1 2021. “We’ve been watching the stock languish for the better part of two years. Ethereum censorship concerns raised amid rising OFAC compliance

Image
More and more Ethereum blockchain operators have complied with sanctions from the OFAC, raising censorship concerns among decentralization proponents and network participants. Toni Wahrstätter, an Ethereum researcher, noted that five of the six largest block builders on Ethereum’s blockchain actively censor certain transactions in line with the Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) directives.  Most of these censor ed transactions originate from decentralized mixer Tornado Cash, according to Wahrstätter, a protocol blacklisted by the Treasury Department due to its use by bad actors, including the North Korean hacker organization Lazarus. US lawmakers raise concerns over Apple’s crypto and NFT policies

Two United States lawmakers have written to Apple CEO Tim Cook, raising concern about how the company’s guidelines may restrict crypto and NFTs. Congressman Gus Bilirakis of Florida and his Illinois counterpart Jan Schakowsky, on July 28, jointly sent a letter to Apple CEO Tim Cook expressing concern that Apple’s App Store guidelines could potentially curb the growth of emerging technologies such as blockchain and non-fungible tokens (NFTs).  Today, I sent a bipartisan letter to @Apple regarding iOS App Store policies and their impact on emerging technologies like blockchains and NFTs. Congress must understand if Apple's policies are limiting innovation and American technological leadership.
